Rise and Fall 2021
Commissioned by GPT and Fender Katsalidis Architects for 32 Smith Street, Parramatta
Three monumental columns mark the entrance to this 5 Green Star office building. These columns feature cast fragments, suggestive of non-extant outer casing. Clinging to exposed reinforcing bar, and providing a climbing framework for vine species native to the Parramatta area. Conceptually, Rise and Fall provides a connection between the local street and park vegetation, and the gardens that are established on the mid and upper levels of the building.
